Thanks to the support of the Tavola Valdese 8x1000 Liveinslums has started new activities related to the prevention of child labor, the reception of street children and women victims of violence. The new multi-purpose civic center is a two-story building that will accommodate the weakest sections of the Mathare population, housing 50 children and 25 women in a situation of serious emergency; the center intends to set up laboratories with specific projects for job reintegration and not formal education courses to accompany street children towards school reintegration.
The center joins the Why Not Junior Academy (kindergarten and primary school already started by Liveinslums) going to create a sort of open square for the Mathare community, which will also be equipped with a playground for children; a glimpse to watch basketball games and public lighting.
